Registration has begun for Art Blast, a summer art camp for children ages 4 –5, 6 to 8, 9 to 12, and 13 to 18. Camp art classes begin June 16th and run weekly (with the exception of the week of July 4th) through the week of August 4th. Classes begin at 8:00 am, and end at 5:00 pm. Two classes are offered each morning and two each afternoon for all age groups. Parents may enroll their children in one or more classes during any one or more of the seven camp weeks. All-day campers bring a snack and lunch. Children are supervised at all times by certified art instructors as well as museum staff and qualified volunteers. Contact the Education Department at 208-5212 to enroll your child today!

Festival of Flowers

This year the Education Department of the Mobile Museum of Art participated in the Festival of Flowers’ enticing theme, The Great Get-Away, by hosting three wonderful art get-aways for children at our Festival venue. Children experienced the exciting countries of South America and made charming Molas to take home. They also had the opportunity to “visit” the homeland of one of the world’s greatest sculptors, Rodin, who lived and worked in France. Their sculptural creations elicited exclamations of “Bon, Bon”, and “Tres magnifique”! But of course, no visit to the museum’s venue would be complete without creating a signature garden bonnet to wear while visiting the Festival gardens and other venues! Many thanks to all the volunteers, Museum Docents, school groups and art teachers who assisted the museum staff with staging this year’s children’s area.
